Terms of Service & Disclaimer of Liability

1. Nature of the Platform and İŞKUR Exemption

Faroys.com ("Platform") is a non-commercial social solidarity network and digital listings board, operated individually by Şerif Kurhan, meant to facilitate communication between seafarers and shipowners. FAROYS is NOT a Private Employment Agency, a job-and-worker placement institution, a seafarer manning agent, or a shipowner's agent under Turkish Law No. 4904. The Platform has no intermediary role or commission expectation in any employment relationship formed between parties.

2. Content and Hosting Provider Liability

Under Turkish Law No. 5651, FAROYS is not obligated to verify the accuracy, currency, or legality of content uploaded by users (CVs, company information, job listings, rank declarations). The Platform Operator (Şerif Kurhan) cannot be held liable for any material or moral damages arising from inaccurate information on the Platform or from fake accounts.

3. User Responsibilities

Users (seafarers and companies) are solely responsible for any contracts they enter into, hiring processes, and any potential visa/passport/travel issues arising from contacts made through the Platform. FAROYS does not guarantee the reliability of listed companies or the professional qualifications of seafarers. Due diligence is entirely the responsibility of the parties involved.

4. Notice-and-Takedown Principle

Content believed to infringe copyright, be misleading, or be unlawful may be reported to info@faroys.com. Listings, forum posts, and reviews can also be reported directly using the "Report" feature on the Platform. Following review, the relevant content will be removed.

5. Service Interruptions

As the Platform is run as a volunteer initiative, it makes no commitment to and cannot be held liable for any data loss, server outages, or complete discontinuation of the service.

6. Meaning of "Verified" Badges and Limits of Liability

The "Verified" badges (blue check, etc.) awarded to companies or users on the Platform are given SOLELY to confirm that the relevant entity legally or physically exists (through methods such as IMO number checks or corporate contact verification). Likewise, the "Verified Seafarer" badge awarded to seafarer accounts only indicates that the relevant user's information has been reviewed by the FAROYS team. Neither badge means, in any way, that FAROYS vouches for or guarantees the business ethics, financial standing, working conditions, professional competence, or character of the relevant user.

In any bilateral dispute arising between parties in the employment or communication relationships they establish — including unpaid wages, breach of contract, disputes over working conditions, termination issues, or visa/travel grievances — full legal and financial responsibility rests entirely with the parties themselves. FAROYS is solely an independent hosting provider that brings parties together digitally and cannot be held to be a party, an arbitrator, or liable in any bilateral problem between users and companies.

7. Suspension and Termination

In case of violation of these terms, provision of false information, or conduct threatening Platform security, FAROYS may suspend or close your account without prior notice. You may request to close your account at any time from your account settings or via info@faroys.com.

8. Changes

This Terms of Service & Disclaimer of Liability may be updated as the Platform evolves. Significant changes will be announced on the Platform; the current text is always available on this page. Faroys currently operates as a non-commercial, volunteer-driven platform; if paid services or advertising are introduced in the future, this notice will be updated accordingly.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey; Turkish courts and enforcement offices have jurisdiction over any dispute.
