We have gathered the most frequent questions about Faroys and maritime jobs in one place.
Is Faroys paid?
No. Membership, creating a CV and access to maritime jobs are completely free for seafarers.
Does Faroys take commission?
No. Faroys takes no commission from seafarers who find work through a seafarer job post, nor from the companies posting them. Faroys is a non-profit platform founded for solidarity.
Is Faroys a crewing or placement agency?
No. Faroys is not a private employment agency; it does not act as an intermediary, select candidates or place anyone in a job. Maritime jobs are posted first-hand by employers, and seafarers contact employers directly. Think of Faroys as a job board and seafarer community where sea jobs are shared.
Are the seafarer jobs reliable?
Companies posting maritime jobs go through an approval process. Still, be careful with every offer: being asked to pay for a job is always a warning sign. Report suspicious posts with the "Report" button; the community protects itself together.
