Finding the right maritime job starts with using the right filters. The seafarer jobs on Faroys are posted first-hand by employers; your job is to find the right one quickly.
1. Open the Jobs page
The "Jobs" link in the top menu takes you to the list of all maritime jobs. You can search directly by typing a rank, vessel type or region.
2. Choose a category
Maritime jobs are grouped into four categories:
- Seafarer: sea jobs for deck, engine and catering crews.
- Office Staff: shore-based roles at shipping companies.
- Port Staff: port and terminal jobs.
- Technical Staff: shipyard, maintenance and technical service.
3. Use the filters
Narrow down seafarer jobs with the filters on the left:
- Rank: Master, Chief Officer, Second Engineer, AB, Cook...
- Vessel type: tanker, bulk carrier, container, LNG, RoRo, yacht, offshore...
- Region: Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Far East and more.
- Nationality, minimum salary and joining date filters.
Maritime jobs tagged "Immediate / ASAP" are for ships waiting for an urgent joining.
4. Sort the results
Sort sea jobs by newest, oldest or salary (high to low or low to high).

5. Open the job details
A maritime job page shows rank, vessel type, region, contract length, salary and required certificates. Details such as salary and contact information are open to members; sign up for free to see them all.
6. Contact the employer directly
Faroys is not a middleman; you talk directly to the employer who posted the seafarer job. For each maritime job, the employer chooses which contact channels to open:
- phone,
- email,
- in-app messaging on Faroys.
There is no commission in between and no fee asked of you. If anyone asks you for money for a maritime job, report the listing immediately.
7. Save and follow
Add seafarer jobs you like to your favourites to find them easily later, and follow updates on your account from the notifications page.
A step towards solidarity
If you see a maritime job that doesn't suit you but could suit a friend, share it via WhatsApp, LinkedIn or Facebook using the share buttons on the job page. Every shared seafarer job means one more seafarer finding work without paying a middleman.
Practical tip: complete your CV before browsing maritime jobs; when you contact an employer, a strong CV sets the first impression. The next part explains how.
